Award Process and Timelines

  • District Commissioners are able to issue and present the Commissioners Commendation Award. The certificates are on the Brand Centre and can be purchased from Scout Stores along with the badges.


    Submitting an award

    Once an Award has been approved locally the details must be submitted to National HQ for processing which will include:

    Submit Award decision Suitability Check undertaken by HQ Check to ensure the Award has not already been issued Issue Award for presentation Upload Award to Compass 60 days after issue

    Awards which require an application to be submitted to National HQ for a decision will go through the following process:

    Award Timeline

    For Good Service awards there are four cut-off dates per year for the notification of awards approved by local Scouting, together with nominations for any Awards to be considered by the National Awards Advisory Group.

    Any applications/notifications received after the date will be processed for the next date, the dates are as follows:

    All Silver Wolf, Bar to Silver Acorn, Silver Acorn, Gallantry, Meritorious Conduct and Cornwell Scout Badge recipients approved and sent out during the calendar year (January - December) will be invited to Windsor, A day of Celebration the following calendar year.
