Careers offices

Almost all universities or colleges will have a careers office or student employment office. The size of each will differ but all careers offices are well used by students.

Most offices do not limit themselves to advertising job vacancies and will offer students advice in drop-in sessions, as well as information and workshops on impressing employers with CVs, in interviews and at assessment centres.

Careers offices will normally be staffed by careers advisers who will realise that the key to successful employment after university is as much to do with a student’s skills as it is to do with their degree results. Scouting is a fun way for students to gain some of these skills!
